The International Mobility Programme 2025 was successfully held from 28 September to 4 October 2025, covering three major cities in Japan — Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe. A total of 22 students, one accompanying officer, and eight staff members participated in the program, organized under the Japanese Language Professional Club (JANPU).
The program aimed to provide participants with firsthand exposure to Japan’s culture, innovation, and energy policies through experiential learning. Among the participants, seven students from FTKEE took part, including the club’s president, treasurer, and program director.
Throughout the program, participants engaged in various interactive and culturally enriching activities. One of the highlights was a cultural exchange session with students from Shitennoji University, where Malaysian participants showcased their local heritage by donning traditional attire such as baju kurung, baju Melayu, sari, dhoti, and hanfu, while also introducing traditional Malaysian games like batu seremban.
Participants also joined a Japanese cooking class, learning to make takoyaki, and explored the intricate art of origami, reflecting the precision and craftsmanship deeply rooted in Japanese culture.
In addition, the group attended a professional training session titled “Rising Sun, Rising Power: Japan’s Energy Policy & Solar Applications”, organized by ASCA TECH Lab, Kobe. The session provided valuable insights into Japan’s strategy in strengthening renewable energy initiatives, particularly solar energy.
The journey was further enriched with visits to Japan’s most iconic landmarks, including Fushimi Inari Taisha, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Osaka Castle, Kyoto Tower, Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel (Eye of Osaka), Sannenzaka Traditional Street, and the Osaka Museum.
Overall, the program not only deepened participants’ understanding of Japanese innovation and culture but also underscored UMPSA’s commitment to nurturing globally-minded, competitive, and internationally engaged graduates.
