Cultivating Green Energy Education Through International Academic Networking | A Lasting Symbol of Sustained Collaboration
The Speaker Invitation for Green Energy and Green Building Workshop was successfully conducted at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Surakarta, Indonesia, on 9–10 February 2026. The programme featured guest lectures delivered through a pairing speaker approach, involving 50 undergraduate students from the Departments of Mechanical Engineering Education, Informatics Education, and Building Engineering. The sessions adopted an active learning approach, implemented through five small-group discussions.
A total of four structured sessions were conducted with the objective of providing introductory exposure and foundational understanding of green energy, with particular emphasis on solar energy. The programme also included networking and strategic discussion sessions aimed at exploring opportunities for international academic collaboration, encompassing student mobility and exchange programmes, matched research grants, and the implementation of joint/remote PhD supervision in the fields of electronic, electrical, and computer engineering education.
In addition, the delegation undertook an academic visit to the Community Learning Center, Klaten Regency, to observe first-hand the implementation of community-based solar installation projects. The programme concluded with a souvenir exchange session as a token of appreciation and a symbol of sustained collaborative commitment, presented by the Head of Delegation, Ts. Dr. Mohd Shafie Bakar, to Dr. Cucuk Wawan Budiyanto, S.T., Ph.D., Head of the Informatics Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret.
