In the spirit of “rising with the sun from the East,” the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology (FTKEE), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), embarked on a meaningful engagement with the Embassy of Japan, marking the beginning of a new chapter in strengthening Malaysia–Japan strategic collaboration, particularly in the East Coast region.
The meeting was led by Prof. Ts. Dr. Hamzah Ahmad, Dean of FTKEE, together with Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohamad Shaiful Abdul Karim and Dr. Ahmad Syahiman Mohd Shah. Representing the Embassy of Japan were Mr. Kitaoka Tatsuya (Director, Japan Information Service Counsellor), Ms. Yamada Momo (Second Secretary), and Ms. Chua Liew Shen (Associate for Education Affairs and Public Relations).
The bilateral discussion opened doors to potential synergies in several areas, including research collaboration, academic mobility, technological innovation, and cultural exchange.
This initiative aligns with UMPSA’s aspiration to position itself as a center of academic, industrial, and cultural excellence that bridges Malaysia and Japan, fostering mutual growth and collaboration within the East Coast region.
