Cultivating Green Energy Education Through International Academic Networking | A Lasting Symbol of Sustained Collaboration

The Speaker Invitation for Green Energy and Green Building Workshop was successfully conducted at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Surakarta, Indonesia, on 9–10 February 2026. The programme featured guest lectures delivered through a pairing speaker approach, involving 50 undergraduate students from the Departments of Mechanical Engineering Education, Informatics Education, and Building Engineering. The sessions adopted an active learning approach, implemented through five small-group discussions.

A total of four structured sessions were conducted with the objective of providing introductory exposure and foundational understanding of green energy, with particular emphasis on solar energy. The programme also included networking and strategic discussion sessions aimed at exploring opportunities for international academic collaboration, encompassing student mobility and exchange programmes, matched research grants, and the implementation of joint/remote PhD supervision in the fields of electronic, electrical, and computer engineering education.
 
In addition, the delegation undertook an academic visit to the Community Learning Center, Klaten Regency, to observe first-hand the implementation of community-based solar installation projects. The programme concluded with a souvenir exchange session as a token of appreciation and a symbol of sustained collaborative commitment, presented by the Head of Delegation, Ts. Dr. Mohd Shafie Bakar, to Dr. Cucuk Wawan Budiyanto, S.T., Ph.D., Head of the Informatics Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret.

Strengthening Research Collaboration and Green Energy Education Through International Academic Networking

The Invitation for Research Collaboration and Speaker Engagement programme was conducted at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (UNIMUS), Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, Semarang, Indonesia, on 11 February 2026.
 
The programme commenced with a presentation on the progress of the matched research grant delivered by Ts. Dr. Mohd Shawal Jadin to the faculty’s academic staff, followed by an interactive discussion and question-and-answer session focusing on the expansion of strategic collaboration. Key areas explored included student mobility and exchange programmes, as well as the implementation of joint/remote PhD supervision. Several potential fields for further collaboration were identified, notably robotics, image processing, and renewable energy.
 
The programme also featured guest lectures delivered through a pairing speaker approach to 30 undergraduate students from the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Informatics programmes, employing an active learning methodology.
 
The lecture, titled Green Hydrogen and Fuel-Cell Power Conversion for Electricity Generation, aimed to provide introductory exposure and foundational understanding of green energy, with particular emphasis on energy conversion using fuel-cell technologies for electricity generation. The activities continued with a visit to research and teaching laboratories to facilitate the sharing of facilities and research practices, before concluding with a souvenir exchange session as a token of appreciation and a commitment to sustained collaboration, presented by the Head of Delegation, Ts. Dr. Mohd Shawal Jadin, to Dr. Sabhan Kanata, S.T., M.Eng., Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang.

​KUALA TERENGGANU – Fakulti Teknologi Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik (FTKEE) UMPSA terus proaktif mempromosikan peluang pendidikan melalui penyertaan dalam Karnival Jom Masuk Universiti 2026 Zon Timur yang telah berlangsung di Mayang Mall, Kuala Terengganu pada 7 dan 8 Februari 2026.
 
​Kehadiran wakil FTKEE, Dr. Marlina binti Yakno dan Dr. Nur Zahirah binti Mohd Ali, bertujuan memberikan khidmat nasihat dan maklumat lanjut mengenai pelbagai program pengajian yang ditawarkan di UMPSA dan pada masa yang sama juga mempromosi FTKEE. Membawa semangat kerjasama, mereka turut bersama dengan Pusat Pemasaran & Kemasukan UMPSA, beserta wakil dari FTKMA dan FSTI dalam usaha memperkenalkan UMPSA sebagai universiti teknologi pilihan utama.
 
Karnival ini menjadi platform penting buat kumpulan pelajar yang menduduki peperiksaan SPM, STPM, Matrikulasi, Asasi, STAM, serta Diploma/Setaraf untuk mendapatkan maklumat sahih mengenai laluan pengajian dan hala tuju masa hadapan sebelum melangkah ke menara gading.

Gotong-royong Perdana FTKEE UMPSA 1.0 | Selesai Dilaksanakan

Program Gotong-Royong Perdana FTKEE 1.0 telah berjaya dilaksanakan dengan penglibatan komited seluruh warga fakulti dalam usaha memperkukuh amalan Ekosistem Kondusif Sektor Awam (EKSA).

Aktiviti pembersihan, penyusunan semula, pengemasan dan pengurusan barangan di kawasan Blok 2, Blok 3 serta Blok Pentadbiran FTKEE bukan sahaja meningkatkan tahap kebersihan dan keselamatan ruang kerja, malah menyemai semangat kebersamaan dan tanggungjawab bersama dalam mewujudkan persekitaran kerja yang lebih kondusif dan berintegriti.

Inisiatif ini turut menjadi langkah persediaan awal ke arah Audit Dalaman dan Audit Pensijilan EKSA (MAMPU) serta mencerminkan komitmen berterusan FTKEE dalam membudayakan persekitaran kerja yang sistematik, kemas dan berdaya saing.

Penyatuan 16 Stesen Automasi: Lonjakan Pembelajaran Industri & Digital Twin di FTKEE

Tahniah dan syabas diucapkan kepada pasukan naik taraf Makmal Automasi Industri yang terdiri daripada empat orang pelajar Program Sarjana Muda Teknologi Automasi Elektronik Industri (BVI), iaitu Muhammad Amirul Adly bin Mohamad Rashidi, Afiq Farhan bin Abdul Khamis, Muhammad Adib Afham bin Mat Zaki dan Adil Azfar bin Amran, dengan sokongan tiga orang fasilitator berpengalaman, Encik Mohd Azlan bin Sayuti, Ir. Ts. Nik Mohd Zaitul Akmal bin Mustafa dan Ir. Ts. Mohamad Rahimi bin Mohamed Rodzi.
 
Pasukan ini telah berjaya merealisasikan penyatuan 16 stesen automasi dalam satu rangkaian bersepadu, bagi menyokong pembelajaran berasaskan industri, integrasi sistem kawalan berskala besar serta pendedahan kepada konsep Industrial Automation Networking dan Digital Twin. Projek ini bukan sahaja mengoptimumkan penggunaan peralatan sedia ada, malah memperkukuh kualiti pengajaran dan pembelajaran melalui pendekatan hands-on, penglibatan pelajar BVI melalui skim pelajar bekerja serta bimbingan fasilitator, selaras dengan aspirasi Industry 4.0 dan keperluan semasa industri automasi.
 
Sesi penyerahan (handover) projek telah berlangsung pada 6 Februari 2026 dan telah diterima oleh Profesor Madya Ts. Dr. Mohd Herwan Bin Sulaiman, Ts. Dr. Md Rizal Bin Othman, Timbalan Dekan Penyelidikan FTKEE, bersama Ketua Jabatan Teknologi, serta barisan pengajar Makmal Automasi Industri. Pencapaian ini menandakan satu langkah penting dalam usaha memperkukuh ekosistem pembelajaran berasaskan integrasi sistem, rangkaian automasi dan aplikasi Digital Twin di FTKEE.

[UMPSA NEWS] Tuaian Patin dan Pelepasan Benih Baharu Penanda Aras Kejayaan iSenseFishery

Program Tuaian Patin dan Pelepasan Benih Baharu bagi ternakan ikan sangkar berteknologi iSenseFishery telah berjaya dilaksanakan sebagai simbol kejayaan kitaran pertama penternakan ikan patin serta permulaan kitaran baharu projek berimpak tinggi ini.

Program yang dianjurkan di bawah Geran Translational Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi (KPT) ini turut melibatkan pelepasan sebanyak 10,000 ekor benih ikan patin, sekali gus menandakan kesinambungan usaha memperkasa sektor akuakultur negara melalui pendekatan teknologi pintar. Projek Geran Translational ini melibatkan penternak ikan sangkar Patin di Kg. Padang Rumbia, Tn Hj. Mohd Rasli Yusof. Projek iSenseFishery memberi fokus kepada membantu penternak ikan tradisional dan konvensional dengan memperkenalkan penggunaan teknologi sensor berasaskan Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) dalam pengurusan operasi sangkar ikan. Data yang dikumpul melalui sistem sensor ini dianalisis oleh model AI bagi menyokong keputusan operasi penternakan secara lebih sistematik dan berasaskan data. Pendekatan inovatif ini dijangka mampu meningkatkan kecekapan pengurusan, produktiviti serta hasil pengeluaran penternakan ikan, selari dengan hasrat KPT untuk memacu pemindahan teknologi dan inovasi daripada institusi pengajian tinggi kepada komuniti dan industri.

Program ini telah diserikan dengan kehadiran Timbalan Naib Canselor (Penyelidikan dan Inovasi) UMPSA, Prof. Ts. Dr. Aida Mustapha. Turut hadir ialah Felo Penyelidik Utama Pusat Teknologi Industri Termaju (AIT) yang juga Pensyarah Fakulti Teknologi Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik (FTKEE) UMPSA, Profesor Ir. Ts. Dr. Kamarul Hawari Ghazali, Pengarah AIT, PM. Dr. Nasrul Hadi bin Johari, Pemilik Sangkar Patin Tn Hj Mohd Rasli Yusof serta Dekan FTKEE, Prof. Ts. Dr. Hamzah bin Ahmad.

Perkongsian Akademik: Lawatan Penanda Aras KKTM Kemaman ke FTKEE UMPSA

Pada 27 Januari 2026, Fakulti Teknologi Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik (FTKEE), UMPSA telah menerima kunjungan lawatan penanda aras daripada Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi MARA (KKTM) Kemaman bagi tujuan perkongsian berkaitan program diploma.

Delegasi KKTM Kemaman, seramai lima orang pensyarah telah diketuai oleh Ketua Program Elektrik, Ir. Hanafi bin Che Ab. Halim. Kehadiran delegasi KKTM disambut oleh pihak FTKEE UMPSA yang diketuai oleh Dr. Norazila binti Jaalam selaku Ketua Jabatan Teknologi Kejuruteraan. Sesi lawatan dimulakan dengan perbincangan dua hala yang memfokuskan kepada struktur kurikulum program diploma serta pelaksanaan Outcome-Based Education (OBE), termasuk perkongsian amalan terbaik dalam pengajaran, pembelajaran dan pentaksiran. Lawatan kemudiannya diteruskan dengan lawatan ke makmal bagi melihat kemudahan serta pelaksanaan aktiviti pengajaran dan pembelajaran secara praktikal.

Diharapkan lawatan ini dapat memperkukuh hubungan kerjasama akademik serta memberi manfaat kepada kedua-dua institusi dalam usaha meningkatkan kualiti pendidikan tinggi.

From Lab to Farm: IoT Technology Driving the Future of the Poultry Industry

The Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology (FTKEE), UMPSA, through the Bachelor of Industrial Electronics Automation Technology (BVI) programme, conducted an Embedded Systems and Internet of Things (IoT) Knowledge Sharing Programme with the Agrotechnology Poultry Farming community at Kolej Vokasional (Agriculture) Chenor, Maran, Pahang, under the SULAM programme.

Various innovative projects were developed and tested in the field, including the Automatic Egg Grader & Sorter, Smart Poultry System, Egg Incubation System, Water Quality Monitoring System, and Chick Brooder Monitoring System.

This direct engagement provided real-world exposure for BVI students in addressing on-site challenges, thereby strengthening their technical skills, communication abilities, and critical thinking in line with the concept of learning beyond the classroom.

This collaboration not only benefits the community but also empowers students with authentic industry experience and contributes towards the advancement of high-tech smart agriculture.

Academic Program Evaluation Visit by External Assessor for FTKEE Postgraduate Programmes

The Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology (FTKEE) hosted an academic programme evaluation visit by External Assessors (EA) for its postgraduate programmes on 19 and 20 January 2026.

For the implementation of this evaluation, FTKEE appointed Professor Ir. Dr. Ismail bin Musirin as the External Assessor for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master by Research programmes, while Associate Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Muhammad Mokhzaini bin Azizan was appointed as the External Assessor for the Master of Electrical Engineering (Sustainable Energy) programme.

The visit involved discussion sessions, reviews of programme implementation, and the sharing of insights between the External Assessors and FTKEE representatives. A total of 28 faculty representatives, comprising management members, Programme Heads, and academic staff, were directly involved in the sessions conducted.

This evaluation visit also provided the faculty with an opportunity to obtain objective external feedback, particularly for the PhD and Master by Research programmes, which had not previously undergone a face-to-face evaluation during the tenure of the appointed External Assessor. Meanwhile, the most recent evaluation visit for the Master of Electrical Engineering (Sustainable Energy) programme was conducted in 2024.

Overall, the implementation of this visit is expected to assist the faculty in further enhancing the quality of its postgraduate programmes, while ensuring that students’ learning and research experiences continue to be strengthened in line with current needs and the university’s academic direction.
