Undergraduate Research Project (URP2)

On June 14, 2024, the Undergraduate Research Project (URP 2), a core course in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical Engineering (Electronics) and the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems), took place. The course aims to develop fundamental research skills and expose students to the academic research process within their respective fields of study.

The primary objective of this program is to showcase the final year students' work from the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical Engineering (Electronics) and the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) to a panel. The program also enhances students' communication skills through the presentation of their research findings.

Undergraduate Research Project (URP1) Enhances Basic Research Skills

The URP1 Presentation session was held at FTKEE UMPSA Gambang, involving 103 students from the BEE4712 course at FTKEE.

The objectives of the URP are to expose students to the process of conducting literature reviews from credible research sources such as journals, conference papers, books, internet sources, and others. Additionally, the program aims to provide systematic engineering solutions to existing problems. Students are expected to analyze project results and data and present valid arguments.

FTKEE Joins Visit to the Deputy Director Office (Education) Mara

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic and International Affairs, Lt. Col. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Haji Razlan Haji Samsuri, Deputy Director-General (Education) of MARA, Kuala Lumpur. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Haji Abdul Manab Abdul Majid (Director of the Education Sponsorship Division), Ms. Siti Aminah Abdul Kadir (Director of Higher Education Division), and Mr. Ir. Ts. Nuriman Yusop (Director of Skills & Technical Division).

Mr. Haji Razlan chaired the meeting and presented the functions of the MARA education division. Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Prof. Dr. Ziad presented four main UMPSA agendas during the meeting, which included:

  1. Sponsorship for UMPSA Dual Degree programs,
  2. High-level TVET programs at UMPSA,
  3. Appeals for TESP student applications,
  4. Policies on overseas studies.

The UMPSA delegation included the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Technology, Prof. Madya Dr. Hamdan Daniyal; the Director of the Center for Strategic Academic Partnerships, Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Mohd Ruzaimi Mat Rejab; the Director of the Center for Academic Marketing & Admissions, Mr. Zainal Bahari; the Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic Academic Partnerships, Mr. Abd Rahman Bin Hj Safie; and Dr. Nur Aqilah Othman, Head of the UMPSA-HKA Germany Electrical Program.

On June 7, 2024, a knowledge-sharing session (industrial talk) was held for students enrolled in the courses BTW 4533 AC Generator Operation System and BTE 2413 Electrical Power System. The event took place at Lecture Hall 2, FTKEE Pekan Campus.

The speaker, Mrs. Nooraishah Bakti, is an esteemed alumna of FKTEE from the 2003-2007 batch. She currently serves as the Engineering Team Leader at the Regional Solution Centre (RSC) East Asia & Japan (EAJ), Schneider Electric Industries.

During her talk, Mrs. Nooraishah shared her extensive knowledge, experience, and expertise in the field of electrical power generation and operation systems technology, with a special focus on the context of Malaysia. Her insights were invaluable to the students, providing them with practical perspectives and a deeper understanding of the industry.
