UMPSA Wins Big at IPBM 2026 with Four Major Awards

PENANG, 1 September 2026 — Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) made a strong mark at the Innovation Pitch and Business Matching (IPBM) 2026, securing four awards for innovations spanning smart technology, commercialisation, talent development and sustainable industrial solutions.
 
The wins highlight the breadth of UMPSA’s innovation pipeline and its continued focus on moving research beyond the laboratory towards industry application, market validation and commercial opportunities.
IPBM 2026 is designed to connect researchers from the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN) with industry players and potential users, creating opportunities to refine technologies based on real market needs while strengthening pathways towards industry adoption and commercialisation.
 
Among UMPSA’s winners, Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Nurul Hazlina binti Nordin received the Best Category Award – Research and Development Collaboration for LiLex-3: Modular Smart Sensor Node for IoT Applications & Engineering Education. Ts. Nurul Wahidah binti Arshad, inventor of DEWBOARD© SYSTEM, won the Best Category Award – Commercial Potential, recognising the technology’s potential for further market development and commercial application.
