FTKEE Strengthens TVET Through SULAM 2026 Project with Vocational Colleges

27 June 2026 | Pekan – The Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology (FTKEE), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), continues to strengthen the Service Learning Malaysia – University for Society (SULAM) agenda through the implementation of a project under the Collegiality Interaction and Management (CIM) course for students of the Bachelor of Electrical System Maintenance Technology (BVE) Cohort 2024.

Through the project titled “Final Year Project (PTA) Report Writing Using Microsoft Word,” BVE students conducted four intensive training sessions focusing on the use of the official PTA report writing template. The programme involved the participation of 91 students from Kolej Vokasional Kemaman, Kolej Vokasional Kuantan, Kolej Vokasional Rompin, and Kolej Vokasional Temerloh.

According to the CIM course coordinator, Ts. Dr. Mohd. Shafie Bakar, the entire training sessions were fully conducted by BVE students in FTKEE’s computer laboratories. This approach not only enhanced the participants’ technical skills but also developed the university students’ confidence, leadership, and communication skills through community-based learning.

As an added value to the programme, accompanying teachers attended a technical talk titled “Fundamental of Photovoltaic System Installation & Maintenance” delivered by Ts. Dr. Mohd. Shawal Jadin. The delegation also visited the Mini Solar Farm and Motor Control Laboratory at FTKEE, providing exposure to the faculty’s teaching and research facilities while opening opportunities for future strategic collaboration.

The programme also received strong support from two invited project personnel (PJP) as well as FTKEE administrative staff, who ensured the smooth implementation of all activities throughout the programme.

This SULAM initiative reflects FTKEE’s commitment to strengthening strategic networks with TVET institutions while producing graduates who excel not only in academic and technical aspects but also possess strong soft skills, leadership qualities, and a spirit of volunteerism.

Empowering TVET, Building Competencies, Shaping the Future Together.
