Kuantan District Health Office and FTKEE UMPSA Strengthen Dengue Outbreak Prediction Research Through CSR Programme

KUANTAN, 3 August 2026 – A Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme was successfully conducted through a collaborative effort between the Kuantan District Health Office (PKD Kuantan) and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) at the Operations Room of the Kuantan District Health Office. The programme brought together lecturers from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology (FTKEE) and the Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology (FSTI), UMPSA, to support the development of dengue outbreak prediction strategies in the Kuantan district through data-driven research and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

The CSR programme was led by Ts. Dr. Norhafidzah Mohd Saad, together with team members Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohammad Fadhil Abas, Ts. Dr. Syamimi Mardiah Shaharum, Dr. Wan Syahirah W. Samsudin, and Dr. Siti Fatimah Rogiah Yahaya. The team worked closely with personnel from PKD Kuantan, led by Dr. Noraini, Public Health Medicine Specialist and Epidemiology Officer (Infectious Diseases).

It is hoped that the collaboration between PKD Kuantan and UMPSA will continue to be strengthened as a platform for sharing knowledge, expertise and innovation, while contributing to efforts to enhance public health preparedness and community well-being through high-impact research.
