Giving Back Through Knowledge FTKEE UMPSA Brings AI Education Beyond Borders Through CSR Initiative
Demonstrating its commitment to community engagement and social responsibility, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology (FTKEE), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), extended its impact beyond national borders through a meaningful Artificial Intelligence (AI) outreach initiative in Brunei.
Following the successful completion of a three-day Train the Trainers (TTT) Programme at Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Ibrahim continued his contribution by conducting a special “AI Awareness” session for Year 12 (Pre-University/Sixth Form) students under Brunei's Ministry of Education.
Hosted by the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AiML) Lab, UTB, the session introduced students from diverse academic backgrounds to the exciting world of AI through an engaging and hands-on learning experience.
In just one hour, participants explored fundamental AI concepts and successfully developed their own AI models using Google’s Teachable Machine—without the need for coding skills or specialised hardware. What began as curiosity quickly transformed into enthusiasm as students experienced firsthand how accessible and impactful AI technologies can be.
This initiative reflects FTKEE’s belief that education extends beyond classrooms and borders. Through knowledge sharing, community engagement, and capacity building, FTKEE remains committed to inspiring future innovators and nurturing technological awareness among younger generations across the region.
By empowering students with early exposure to emerging technologies, FTKEE continues to play its role in shaping a future-ready society while strengthening regional collaboration in science, technology, and innovation.
