A Graduate Employability (GE) Taskforce is a collaborative effort to enhance the job prospects of university graduates. It often involves government agencies, universities, and industry partners working together to improve graduates' skills and preparedness for the workforce. These taskforces typically address issues like insufficient soft skills, lack of practical experience, and mismatches between academic programs and industry needs.
To date, the graduates employment and marketable rate are measured by GE taskforce based on Sistem Kajian Pengesanan Graduan (SKPG) or Graduate Tracer Study System coordinated by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). All graduates from public and private higher education institutions (IPTA and IPTS) are required to participate in this study. For FTKEE and UMPSA graduates generally, the SKPG form must be responded between September and February of the following year.
The SKPG utilises terms Graduate Employment (GE) and Graduate Marketability (GM). GE refers to the proportion of graduates who are part of the labour force, including both those who are employed and those who are unemployed. As for GM, it includes graduates who are employed, pursuing further studies, undergoing skills or training programs, or waiting for job placement.
